Scot is a government and regulatory affairs specialist and non-profit management professional based in Las Vegas. He has been involved in dozens of successful electoral, issue advocacy, ballot question, and legislative campaigns over his 15-year career working in Nevada politics.
Scot spent two years as a campaign consultant before being hired as the executive director for the Nevada Conservation League in 2006. Over the course of his eight years as a non-profit CEO, he helped build the organization into one of the most effective and politically viable advocacy organizations in Nevada. Scot raised millions of dollars from private individuals, corporations, and philanthropic foundations for the organization and became well-versed in corporate governance and board management. He completed numerous trainings and seminars related to organizational development, donor cultivation and stewardship, and board governance. One of Scot’s most outstanding achievements was his work on a multi-year clean energy advocacy campaign that stopped the construction of multiple coal-fired power plants that helped lead to the development of a new clean energy economy in Nevada.
After a brief sabbatical in Costa Rica, Scot worked for Nevada Congresswoman Dina Titus, spending two years as her political and finance director. He fostered relationships on her behalf with business leaders, community groups, and labor organizations.
Scot has been with Argentum Partners since 2015 and became a partner in 2019. He attended the University of Dallas and the Harvard Kennedy School for Executive Management. Scot has volunteered his time and talents to numerous non-profits in Nevada and is currently a board member at HopeLink of Southern Nevada. He spends his free time hiking in the basin and ranges around Nevada, traveling the world, and cooking and dining with friends. And yes, he assures you, there is only one “t” in his name.
